I have a new site up. Well, I have the guts of it anyway.
Here’s my big hangup – why does affiliate marketing have to be a one man show? Now I realize that is not always the case, I have been heavily involved in affiliate marketing for several years, 6, and have worked with some great teams both on the affiliate and affiliate management side of things. In general as a manager I see one man shows coming at me. On the affiliate side I knew lots of other one man shows….why?
The big guys – so called supers – end up creating a team but only in some cases. Many of these guys are doing it all on their own.
See – I’m not a developer and have no desire to be one. I have no real knowledge on how to do all the tech stuff though I have other experience that has been very beneficial to me and I understand their lingo and needs etc. I think that helps me a lot – but, I don’t want to develope a site. What I want is something easy as pie that I can say - add this here – and this here and this here. For this reason I have purchased a system that made some of this possible. The new system is awesome – I bought it – I called in for support – and they said click this – and it added a wordpress blog to my site. Click this and woola Joomlas was installed so that a dummy like me can at least attempt to create a site through this CMS tool. Click another button and I have the jist of an online store. Click another button and an RSS feed page is up and going.
Now – I just have to either figure out how to use each of these tools or get someone to help me out – any takers? Anyone want to do the development while I create some content, links, products, experience?
I didn’t think so.
Anyway – if you’re like me and want to get a site I highly recommend you start as easy as possible and that is with Bluehost – they provide great support and I am sure that within weeks I will have a real site up – I hate the fact that I have to become the developer – but, I don’t see any other way around it. With Bluehost at least I have everything in place – now all I have to do is figure it out page by page.
