WE were talking blogs this morning. I once wrote a blog about blogging to yourself. Seems there are so many blogs many of them are never read by anyone other than the author. But….keep it up. It pays off. I have a loyal readership now. Small but constant. I can count on blogging readers and I can count on Google. The biggest bang for the time spent writing is search, SEO. Over time I have gained some great search rankings for those things I am interested in and people really do find me as a result.
Linked In. Today a guy called me, Adam, and said he found me on Linked In. We are now getting ready to work together on some mutually beneficial lead generation partnerships. Having a Linked In profile – making it nice – updating it – answering questions – and asking. They do work. Linked In does work.
It takes time – but then again so do many other activities people spend their time and money on. I went to Boston to the Affiliate Summit and made some great contacts. But I also get contacts everyday from here, my blog, from Linked In, and from general search results.
Today I would like to expand on what I am doing online and am now getting the right tools in place to create vlogs – video blogs – and be available for live chats and video chats. If anyone wants to recommend any great software tools etc. I’d be happy to try them out.
Gas – I have been driving to work each day this week and have gone through much more gas than I was while carpooling to Datamark. I calculated and am getting 30mpg. My brother in law is headed to California on Monday to see a guy named Larry about an H2O device that is supposed to drastically improve gas mileage. I’ll keep you updated and I’ll let you know if it works – if it does then I will happily promote it and get it for my own car. Until then – I want to see proof. I am a skeptic.
A reminder that was brought up by super affiliate Joshua in a recent post was that we are all affiliates. As he put it….Everyone is a specialist in something – he is now travelling the world on his affiliate income. Working from all over the world. Inspiring. I hope he is doing it right and not creating a bunch of junk.
